Description

Responding to the call for action of the Investment Plans of the Region of Central Macedonia, the project RECREATE (Ecosystem Development for the Improvement of Public Transport Performance – smaRt ECosystem foR improvEment of public trAnsporT pErformance), seeks to create a cradle of business, research and advisory activities around the growing market of "smart mobility" of Public Transport, guided by the final transition to quality entrepreneurship, the increase of domestic added value and the knowledge economy.

At the same time, through the encapsulation of business potential and research excellence, it satisfies the National and Interregional imperative of smart specialization (RIS3 strategy), creating conditions of extroversion and entrepreneurship and in general actively participates in the goal of uplifting the Greek economy.

The central idea of the approach is the creation of an interconnected and automated ecosystem of applications of high level of technological maturity (TRL6), which will be developed with the bus system as the center of reference.

Utilizing innovative technological applications of high level, as well as cutting-edge operational tools, the RECREATE project attempts to create a dynamic ecosystem:

  • Automated real-time recording of the operating and performance parameters of the Public Transport,
  • Development and calculation of indicators for the monitoring of internal and external productivity of Public Transport,
  • Feedback of end-user, actual or potential,
  • Evaluation of the services provided to the triptych institutions – users – society,
  • Investigation of the optimal economic and business model for the utilization of the investment.

Despite the emphasis on intelligent automation, the RECREATE project aims to restore to central Design the anthropocentric approach, considering the citizen (user of the Board or not) the main catalyst in the exercise of Transportation Policy through the detailed tracing of his needs and priorities.

The building unit of technological reference is the i-RECREATE intelligent connectivity ecosystem, which aims at the automatic collection, analysis and provision of primary and secondary information of the project, to the triptych of institutions – users – society
